mid century modern therapy couch

Although born and raised in Ontario, I’ve been living in Alberta for thirty years and have been a proud Okotokian for the past 16. I’m grateful to have stumbled into this small town when I did and consider myself lucky to have raised my family here.

My kids are now both grown and flown and I live here with my husband Chris, our dog Bernard, and our very needy cat, Parker.

Some of you may know me as the Business Manager here at Kindred Roots Therapy. But if you’ve been around town long enough, you also know me as the Founder of Rebel Bean Roasters, a local small business that I sold in 2021.

When I'm not working at this job that I absolutely love, I’m very involved in the community through a local service club. During my down time, I love to read, binge watch TV, and spend time with my closest friends. Living room dance parties are my absolute ideal night in!

As a midlife transition coach, I’m hoping to support women through this time of life when suddenly everything changes. For most people, the last couple decades have been spent building their life around the needs of other people. But now you have the time and space to finally take a look at what YOU want. It’s an opportunity to rediscover or reinvent your relationships, your career, your dreams, your health β€” your future.

I don’t have all the answers. But you do. Using a unique blend of empowerment, empathy, curiosity, directness, and lived experience I will help guide you on your path to a satisfying life.

My Coaching Style is Direct, empathetic, & humourous.

My β€œGo-To” Coaching Tools

I don’t think anyone is put on this earth to simply follow a predetermined path, but rather to actively create their own. My career journey clearly demonstrates this belief, illustrating how my professional life has continuously evolved, guided by a natural inclination to support, consult, and mentor others.

My career began in communications and marketing with a national corporation in Toronto. After relocating to Calgary, I transitioned to consulting with dynamic entrepreneurs in the oil and gas service sector. In this role, I provided strategic communications guidance, helping these visionary individuals shape their messaging and grow their ventures. This experience ignited my own entrepreneurial spirit, leading me to launch my own communications agency.

After becoming a mom, I then embraced the challenging, yet rewarding, role of a full-time mom. While I cherished my kids, I also felt a distinct pull for something more. This period led to exploring various MLM business ventures and embarking on my own journey of self-development. Through these experiences, I began to see the power of personal guidance and the impact of mentorship, both in seeking it for myself and informally offering it to others.

In 2014, as my marriage was ending, an opportunity to purchase coffee roasting equipment presented itself. This aligned perfectly with my need to support my children while maintaining a flexible lifestyle. I built Rebel Bean Roasters from the ground up, and grew it into a successful small business that I eventually sold in 2021, following post-COVID burnout. It’s still around today!

Seeking a change, I accepted a work-from-home position as an executive director for a non-profit. However, it quickly became clear how important community and personal interaction are to my well-being, so I joined a co-working business in town, which is where I met Allegra Taylor as she was beginning to build Kindred Roots.

At Kindred Roots, I now apply my extensive background in business management to ensure the clinic runs smoothly so our therapists can focus their energy on supporting clients. In my role here, often affectionately known as the "clinic mom," I've recognized the wisdom I've gained through my life experiences and I’ve noticed throughout my life, I've naturally gravitated towards helping friends and colleagues navigate their challenges and explore their potential. All of these experiences, each a stepping stone, have organically led me to the profound and fulfilling work of life coaching.

My Professional Background

COACHING SHOULD FEEL LIKE:

a safe space to vent, to dream, to unload, to reflect, and eventually to move ahead with CLARITY.
