Counselling Sessions

Video Chat – sessions can be via video (face to face) or phone call. You must have a solid internet connection, camera, and computer or phone and know how to operate for this form of therapy. Access to video calling and direct messaging is through the Jane App platform or RemotEMDR; please ensure to read Jane App’s and RemotEMDR's privacy policy for more clarity on the safe, encrypted keeping of your personal information. You will need to be ready to connect at the previously agreed time for sessions. Sessions are 60 minutes long (unless you have made a request for 45 minute or 90 minute sessions). If we have agreed to more than one session, then a time for the next meeting will be made at the end of the conducted session.

Payment for Sessions:
Payments are made via Credit Card. If you do not have a credit card, you can make a special request for Kindred Roots Therapy Inc. to accept Interac e-transfer. You will not be charged until after your session is completed. Once you have been charged, you will receive an electronic receipt which can be submitted to your insurance for reimbursement, should you have benefits.

The sessions are organized for an agreed date and time. If you are late attending the session, your therapist will stay online for 15 minutes to allow for any mishaps which may have altered your availability. If you do not make contact within this time, then the session will be considered missed and will be cancelled. In this case, you will be charged for the full amount of the session. And, if you are late attending your session, we will still end on the original time for the session.

If you wish to cancel a session, please give a minimum of 24 hours’ notice by email; cancellation with less than 24 hours notice is subject to a $100.00 fee.
