Jessica Donovan (she/her)

Therapist, MSW BSW RSW

I am an East Coaster turned Albertan, living in Calgary with my husband, Chase, and our beloved rescue dogs, Boy & Stevie. Along with being a therapist, I am a plant mom, tea lover and Netflix enthusiast. Listening to podcasts while I walk my dog, good meals with good friends and a text from a loved one are just some of the little joys in my life. My friends and family describe me as down to earth, sarcastic, playful, empathetic and funny (I think I am pretty hilarious too).

As a therapist, I want to honour people’s lived experiences and have them know that they don’t have to be alone on their journey. Therapy looks different for everyone; for some it is a safe space to explore themselves, dig deeper into the patterns they're noticing, some want solutions, and sometimes we just need somebody to help make sense of things again.

My Professional approach

Life can be challenging, and sometimes we all need support to navigate the emotions, relationships, and transitions that come our way. My goal is to provide a warm, supportive space where you can feel comfortable being yourself, exploring what is happening in your life, and finding ways to move forward.

I’m passionate about working with adults navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, burnout, and the demands of everyday life. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from themselves. Whether you're facing challenges in your relationships, struggling to balance competing responsibilities, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, I can support you in creating a space for reflection, growth, and change.

In my work with children, teens and parents I aim to help them better understand one another and strengthen their connection. If your child is struggling with anxiety, big emotions, or emotional regulation, I work alongside families to develop tools that support growth, resilience, and healthier relationships. Parenting can be hard, and you don't have to figure it all out on your own.

I believe effective therapy is built on a strong therapeutic relationship. Feeling heard, understood, and accepted creates the foundation for meaningful change. My approach is collaborative and compassionate, and I strive to meet each person where they are. Together, we can explore challenges, build on your strengths, and create lasting change that feels authentic to you and your life.

THERAPY SHOULD FEEL LIKE:

A hike - there’s some beautiful moments, and some are tough… but by the end of it, you get to enjoy an amazing view because you put in the work!
